Welcome to Mind Mumbles, and a little peek into my world. I’m an author and speaker who happens to be passionate about all things “home”. I work from home, homeschool, homestead, and I hope – which isn’t home, but there’s only one letter difference, so I thought I would include it…

Hubs and I married in 2003 in small-town Wyoming. After periods of living in North Dakota and Minnesota, we now reside in the great state of South Dakota.

I work from home as a virtual assistant, and love my clients as much as the work I do. I also train others how to either launch their own remote business, or become a virtual assistant as well. My husband, Brent, is my personal IT guy and has been with a financial institution for the last decade plus, working in their IT department. (Handy!)

Our oldest daughter, “Little Miss”, was born two months premature in 2010, in order to save my┬álife. I suffered from HELLP syndrome and had to have an emergency cesarean. Little Miss spent the first month of her life in the NICU, and came home from the hospital weighing just over four pounds. What Little Miss lacks in size, she makes up for in sass. She is far too intelligent for her own good, loves snuggles, and is the best giggler around.

In April of 2013, our second daughter, Harlynn, was delivered stillborn. I was in active labor and we had no idea our precious baby had died, until we arrived at the hospital and were given the devastating news. For seven years we ran a nonprofit designed to assist bereaved families in their darkest hours. After the formation of Harlynn’s Heart, we helped dozens of families locally, and encouraged thousands more via social media. Harlynn-bear, in pictures you’ll see throughout my blog, is how Harlynn is incorporated in all family pictures. Not a day goes by in which we don’t think about, love, and miss Harlynn.

2014 brought the birth of our third child, “Little Man”, who is a healthy and (super) active boy. Little Man loves learning and exploring all his world has to offer. He is strong, active, and witty. He may show physical resemblance to both his sisters, but he has a personality all his own.

So there you have it! This site is where I share my struggles, stories, and revelations. I don’t have it all figured out, I don’t have it all together, but I’m honest about my shortcomings and being my most genuine self. I’d love to have you join up with me and others for an in-depth look at crazy. I post as often as I can, about as much of what we’ve learned and experienced as possible.

Thank you for joining me, and I can’t wait to get to know more about you!
